Studies in the scriptures synopsis
THESE six volumes, containing more than three thousand pages of vital, hope-inspiring
biblical truth for our time, have been aptly styled "Keys to the Scriptures." The first of
the series, "The Divine Plan of the Ages," was written in 1886, and has since gained the
well-deserved circulation of more than eight million copies. Its clear elucidation of the
Gospel of Christ, in which is revealed the height and depth of the love of God, has
brought cheer to the hearts of thousands.
Its first chapter shows the failure of organized churchianity to convert the world--a failure
which today is more than ever manifested. The reader can now also realize how
wonderfully accurate was the author's prediction of the overthrow of the "kingdoms of
this world."
Considering that all these volumes were written before the turn of the present century, it
is a stimulus to one's faith in the inspiration of the Bible to note with what accuracy the
author of Studies in the Scriptures was able, in his discussion of the prophecies in
volumes two, three, and four, to point out the general trend of world events and the chaos
to which that trend has led. What he saw coming is now occurring to a remarkable
degree.
The Scriptures point out the failure of all human efforts to save the present order
of things from destruction, and it was this that the author of Studies in the Scriptures
called to the attention of the world a half century ago. It makes interesting reading now,
and we are glad to be able to supply a republication edition of these remarkable books at
this time.

blessing the world during the Millennium.

The day of judgment is 1,000 years long, and will be the world's trial day.
"The narrow way" of self-sacrifice will cease at the end of this age.

Synopsis
THERE ARE EVIDENCES THAT
SIX thousand years from Adam's fall into sin ended in A. D. 1874.
The date of our Lord's birth was October, 2 B. C. The date of the annunciation to Mary
was December 25, 3 B. C.
The date of our Lord's baptism was October, A. D. 29. The date of our Lord's crucifixion
was April, A. D. 33. The "seventy weeks" of Israel's favor ended A. D. 36. The Jewish
age "harvest" was forty years, A. D. 30-70. The Christian age "harvest" is its parallel.
The Jewish jubilees were typical of the "times of restitution of all things, which God hath
spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began."--Acts 3:19-21
The typical jubilees mark the date of their antitype. The "times of the Gentiles" ended
A.D. 1914. The Jewish age, in its length, its ceremonies, etc., typified the realities of the
Christian age and its length. Elias, or "Elijah the prophet" was a type--now fulfilled.
The Antichrist foretold in the prophecies of the Bible has come!- What? When? Where?
These subjects and many others, deeply interesting to the "household of faith," and "meat
in due season" to all who love and study God's Word, are discussed in this, the second

Volume 3 : Thy Kingdom Come
Synopsis
DO YOU KNOW THAT
WE ARE now living in the "time of the end" of this Gospel age?
This is the day of preparation for the Millennial age?
The present period of fear and distress was foretold by Jesus and the prophets and
described as a "time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation"?
The "days of waiting" are ended, and the "cleansing of the sanctuary"--the church--the
separating of its wheat and tares, is now in progress?
The time has now come for Israel to repossess the land of Palestine, hence the
commercial interests of other nations will not long be permitted to interfere with this, the
divine purpose?
The great pyramid in Egypt is a witness to all these events of the past and present
testifying in symbols? The pyramid's downward passage symbolizes the course of sin?
Its first ascending passage symbolizes the Jewish age? Its grand gallery symbolizes the
Gospel age? Its upper step symbolizes the present period of tribulation and coming
anarchy --"judgments" upon Christendom? Its king's chamber symbolizes the divine
nature, etc„ of the overcoming church--The Christ, Head and body? Its antechamber
symbolizes the correction in righteousness of the Spirit begotten, etc.? Its queen's
chamber symbolizes those of Israel and the world who eventually attain restitution?
All these interesting topics, with ten pyramid illustrations, can be had in "Thy Kingdom
Come."
Volume 4 : The Battle of Armageddon.
Synopsis
"THE WISE SHALL UNDERSTAND" THAT
THIS Gospel age is now closing with a "day of vengeance."
All political, social, financial, and religious systems will fall.
Our day is mentioned by the prophets as "the day of Jehovah," and is symbolically styled
a "dark day," a "day of clouds," etc.
Its trouble is symbolically likened to a hurricane, to a flood, to a fire, etc., these strong
figures being used to give an understanding, yet to hide the real nature of that "time of
trouble such as never was since there was a nation."--Daniel 12:1
Preparations for this symbolic fire and tempest began many years ago, and the trouble is
now well under way, and will continue to rage furiously and increase throughout the
world.
It is a contest between masses and classes, which even now many see upon us, and are
advocating various remedies.
All worldly schemes and panaceas will fail utterly. God's kingdom, the only hope for
church and world is sure.
Man's extremity will prove to be God's opportunity -in the establishment of God's
kingdom--Christ's Millennial kingdom which will establish righteousness by force.--
Revelation 2:26, 27; Daniel 2:34, 35,44,45
All these subjects are simply yet forcefully treated and Matthew 24th chapter elucidated
in this, the fourth volume of "Studies in the Scriptures."
